About Us
Based on decades of experience as a successful interior designer, Jane David joined forces with her son, Rick Goodwin to create a virtual one-stop shop for designers and high-end furniture retailers. From a small 900 sq ft warehouse and a rented truck, SDS inc now utilizes more than 16000 sq ft of air conditioned storage space and operates a fleet of company-owned vehicles.
Jane David Bio
After graduating Cum Laude from Marymount University in Arlington, Virgina with a B.S. in Interior Design in 1983, Jane founded Jane David Interiors in Washington D.C. After more than twenty years as a successful and highly acclaimed interior designer, Jane founded SDS with her son Rick Goodwin. Their sole purpose at the time was to provide a unique, white glove delivery and installation service for not only Jane's clients but other designers in the area.
Rick Goodwin Bio
After college at North Carolina State University Rick chose to gain his experience in marketing and sales by managing his father's mutilple dry cleaning establishments in North Carolina. After several years of successfully managing and growing these facilities, he chose to move to a warmer climate where he had family residing. This eventually led him to the creation of Superior Designer Services inc with his mother Jane David, an established interior designer. With his knowledge and experiance of sales and marketing and his mothers expertise in the needs of professional interior designers, it was the perfect partnership.
After almost six years SDS inc has grown into a highly successful and sought after company that not only provides delivery and storage for designers, architects and showrooms, but also provides textile care and moving and storage services for the homeowner.
